This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to further develop their artistic skills and explore the process of creating art on a more intensive level. Learners will receive tuition that is based on their individual artistic goals and abilities. This programme may progress onto the ‘Advanced Painting’ programme at Mallow College. Materials Required: A set of brushes, acrylic paints, a rag, a jar, a small photograph which you would like to paint and a canvas.

This ten-week course will give participants the tools they need to tell the story or stories they have been longing to tell. To do so effectively, participants will need to keep seven balls in the air at all times: Plot, Structure, Style, Characterization, Setting, Dialogue and Tension/Pace. Each week, classes will focus on one of these elements, so that participants will have a good grasp of how to use them to the advantage of their work.
